knick knacks

i'm back!

the pros: good, cheap food. anytime, anywhere (well, almost). pasar malam. family holiday. coconuts. them hotdogs. my central 'reload' station. dvds. SAM reunions. christmas with the family. meeting up with friends. planning, wrapping, giving christmas presents. catching up on news. some aspects of shopping. home being associated with no work all play. literal space. wanting to stay longer. missing melbourne. not a chance of catching the boredom blues.

the cons: sticky sweaty weather. my fountain-eyes-nose-and-asthma-for-good-measure's not-so-great relationship with whatever it is giving me my fountain-eyes-nose-and-asthma-for-good-measure. almost constant veryvery itchy eyes damnit. some aspects of shopping. my space. wanting to be in melbourne.

----

shout out to vernon: vernon! :D

----

if you've ever seen an asian golliwog, i'm it. burnt to a crisp. stupid tanlines. *grumble*

----

you'd think i ate more in melbourne where the weather is colder, servings are bigger, and i am the usual companion of a champion eater, than here in hot, small servings kl.

add two parts parents who must have as much family time together as possible (and really, what better way than over food?), two parts parents who dabble unendingly into 'health' and impose breakfasts at unheard-of holiday waking hours, one part cheapness, three parts variety, i-don't-wanna-know-how-many parts greed, one part yumcha sessions at ample nocturnal joints, one parts places to hang out as the cool of the night permits, and you got yourself a very jolly joy this christmas.

did i say one part christmas, one part cny? and what the hell, one the raya just past?
